BRACHIOPLASTY

braqueoplastia.jpg

Brachioplasty, or “arm lifting”, is a surgical procedure to reshape the underarm from the armpit to the elbow. This surgery reduces the excess skin that “hangs” when you raise your arms, and tones the tissues that help define the shape of the arm. If there are fat deposits in that area, Dr. Rodriguez-Balasquide may suggest combining the brachioplasty with a liposuction.

The symptoms treated with this procedure can occur as much in women as in men. It generally happens when the skin loses elasticity. A reason for the symptoms can be a sudden weight loss, where the skin has no way to recuperate form the stretching. Other reasons are age, and genetics. This procedure will improve the appearance of the under arm area, but will not correct the muscles weakness.
